German Potato Salad Flatbread with Bratwurst and Caramelized Onions

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 Bratwurst links, sliced ⅛ inch thick
  • 1 pre-made flatbread, approximately 12-inches long
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • 1 can (15 oz) READ German Potato Salad
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh chives

Directions

Makes 4-6 servings

  • Preheat oven to 425°F
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and caramelized. Remove from skillet with a slotted spoon and add to plate. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add bratwurst and cook 7-10 minutes until browned. Remove with slotted spoon and add to plate with onions. Set aside.
  • Place flatbread on baking sheet and brush edges with oil.
  • Layer potato salad, cooked bratwurst, caramelized onions, and cheese.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with chives and serve.
